Study on Conceptual Clarity & Awareness about HIV/AIDS

A study was conducted to identify the level and ratio of conceptual clarity and awareness about HIV/AIDS among mass people in Lucknow, sponsored by U.P. State AIDS Control Society, Lucknow under Awareness-cum-Game Show on World AIDS Day.

SIR has been carrying out Urban Reproductive and Child Health in Lucknow, funded by European Commission and Government of India, about 34 female workers in slum areas are directly associated with the project. A Project sponsored by UPSACS on Targeted Intervention in CSWs in district- Hardoi has been carried out.

SIR came out with an innovative game show during AIDS awareness campaign in the year 2002, for which it was appreciated & awarded by UPSACS, Lucknow. SIR has been associated and actively participated in many programs conducted by UPSACS since 1999. SIR has got its two associates trained by NARI, Pune on Counseling on HIV/AIDS on the recommendation of UPSACS under the guidelines of NACO. Moreover, SIR has two Master Trainer on Women and Child development issues trained by NIPCCD, a division of Deptt of Women & Child Development, GOI, and New Delhi.

SIR has executed several consultancy assignments, & shows a great potential in this field. A brief description of such assignments is given below :-

• Management consultancy has been provided to the district authority of Hamirpur, the Gateway of Bundelkhand in U P, for identifying critical needs, and introducing measures to increase agricultural productivity and employment opportunities. A 3-Year's Master Action Plan (Budget: Rs. 45 Crores) was formulated in 2004 under Rashtriya Sam Vikas Yojana, initiated by Planning Commission of India.
• Management Consultancy has been provided to develop a specific program for selected villages of district- Hamirpur under Provision of Urban-Amenities in Rural Areas (PURA), sponsored by Govt. of India.
• Management consultancy has been provided to the district authority of Azamgarh, the biggest district of Uttar Pradesh, for identifying critical needs, and introducing measures to increase agricultural productivity and employment opportunities. A 3-Year's Master Action Plan (Budget: Rs. 45 Crores) was formulated in 2004 under Rashtriya Sam Vikas Yojana, initiated by Planning Commission of India.
• Developing a concept note on 'Governance and Government Schemes', with a view to formalize the district authority, its role and limitation in implementing different Formulation\of projects on 'Vishes Rojgar Yojana' for Directorate of Industries, Govt. of U.P., Kanpur.
• Project formulation on 'Intensive Development of Mini Industrial Estates in U.P. for Directorate of Industries, Govt. of U.P, and Kanpur.
• Documentation of UNDP-UEVRP for Varanasi City for Disaster Management Cell, UPAAM, Govt. of U.P.
• Documentation of Capacity Building for Access to Information (RTI) Project in Uttar Pradesh
• Training Need Assessment of Revenue and Education sector of district- Jhansi
• Designing and Documentation of Training Modules of Revenue sector for district- Barabanki under CBPR-DFID Project.
•  Documentation of UNDP-UEVRP for Kanpur City & Bareilly City for Disaster Management Cell, UPAAM, Govt. of U.P.
